The Honda Cliq traces its origins to the Honda Navi Design Concept 1 from the 2016 Auto Expo.

Powering the Honda Cliq is the tried and tested 109.19 cc air-cooled mill seen in the Honda Activa and Honda Navi. Coupled to a V-Matic transmission the engine is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,000 rpm and 8.94 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The scooter has a kerb weight of 102 kg and has a claimed top speed of 83 km/h.

The Honda Cliq has a ground clearance of 154 mm and has a seat height of 743 mm. The scooter has a tiny 3.5-litre fuel tank (Navi gets a 3.8-litre unit). Unlike the Navi, which features a telescopic front fork, the Honda Cliq gets a spring loaded hydraulic suspension at both ends. It is shod with 90/100 tubeless tyres over 10-inch rims at both ends.
