The SsangYong Q200 will replace the SsangYong Korando Sports.

The SsangYong Q200 will replace the SsangYong Korando Sports with a design very similar to the latest SsangYong Rexton, although designers will tone down the styling and equipment for it is a utility vehicle. A case in point, spy photos have shown the Q200 devoid of HID headlights and having 18-inch wheels instead of 20-inch wheels.

The SsangYong Q200's rear doors look wider than that of the SsangYong Korando Sports, and the greenhouse looks sleeker with the windows levelled up to the height of the hood. The interior of the SsangYong Q200 should have a strong resemblance to the Rexton minus the frills.

The South Korean media suggest that the SsangYong Q200 will get power from the e-XDi220 LET 2.2-litre diesel engine of the SsangYong Korando C. This unit produces 178 PS and 40.8 kg.m (400.11 Nm). The same engine is tuned to develop 187 PS and 42.8 kg.m (419.72 Nm) in the Rexton. Markets having demand for a petrol engine could get the Rexton's e-XGDi200T 2.0-litre GDI turbocharged unit.

The launch of the new mid-size pickup truck is expected to be held in 2018.
