Bookings for Skoda's first 7-seat model now unofficially open in India.

The Skoda Kodiaq has appeared once again in spy shots. Team-bhp forum member RavenAvi recently spotted an undisguised test mule and captured its exterior and interior.

Skoda India may offer the Kodiaq with a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine and a 2.0-litre TDI engine.

The Indian-spec Skoda Kodiaq features a two-tone interior with a black/beige colour combination. Chrome accents are seen on the door panels, steering wheel, HVAC vents and gearbox.

There are four colour touchscreen infotainment systems available internationally, in 6.5-inch and 8.0-inch sizes, and the interior spy shot reveals that India will get an 8.0-inch unit. Skoda would disappoint customers if it offers only the 8.0-inch Bolero infotainment system like in the Superb, with no availability of satellite navigation in a vehicle that pricey. The Amundsen unit features 2.5D navigation, while the flagship Columbus unit has 3D navigation.

There's nothing left to speak about the well-covered exterior, although it is worth noting that the test mule features the 18-inch Trinity alloy wheels which are optional across the range.

The Skoda Kodiaq measures 4,697 mm in length, 1,882 mm in width and 1,676 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,791 mm. It's available in 5- and 7-seat versions internationally, and India will get it in the latter.

Engine options may include the 132 kW (176.94 hp) 2.0-litre TSI petrol and 140 kW (187.67 hp) 2.0-litre TDI diesel units; both paired to the 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Another option having a potential for our market is the 110 kW (147.45 hp) 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit that is available with the 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG transmissions. If a top-down strategy is observed, expect this variant at a later stage in India.

The Skoda Kodiaq's bookings are now unofficially open in India, but the model will take until October to reach dealers.
