Facelift for the Chinese-spec car borrows cues from the Brazilian model.

Spyshots of an undisguised, facelifted Hyundai Creta (called the Hyundai ix25) had emerged from China last week, revealing all of the exterior changes that seem to borrow cues from the Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta. There are a few key differentiators, however, which are explored in this pictorial comparison between the two models.

Note the smaller foglamps, sharper grille slats and wider inlet on the Chinese spec model.

The Hyundai SUV from China gets fog lamps, ORVM-mounted turn indicators and chrome door handles but misses out on projector headlamps. Dimensions are identical, measuring 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width, 1,630 mm in height, 2,590 mm in wheelbase and 190 mm in ground clearance

Setting aside the exterior features, there are small design changes between the two models; for instance, the front bumper has larger inlets on either side but lacks the silver garnish present in the Brazilian Creta. The profile looks more-or-less the same, but the rear-end has a less aggressive bumper, while the taillamps look identical.

In China, the ix25 is available with the 91.6 kW (122.79 hp) 1.6-litre Gamma naturally aspirated, 118 kW (158.18 hp) 2.0-litre Nu and 117.7 kW (157.77 hp) 1.6-litre Gamma turbocharged petrol engines, while the Creta sold in Brazil can be had with a 130 hp 1.6-litre flex-fuel engine or a 166 hp 2.0-litre flex-fuel unit.

The facelift will also filter down to the India-spec Hyundai Creta, although it is only expected to arrive in showrooms in 2018.
