To launch on 16 May 2017.

Car and Bike have released a video featuring a tour of Maruti's production facility, which has commenced the rollout of the 2017 Maruti Dzire. It is confirmed to launch for sale in India next week i.e May 16, and bookings are currently open for a deposit of INR 11,000.

The new Dzire will come in six different colours, three of which are new options: Sherwood Brown, Oxford Blue (communication colour) and Gallant Red. CnB's factory tour offers a closer look at the new Sherwood Brown exterior colour, which looks slightly different from the Ciaz's Pearl Metallic Dignity Brown. The other two colours are also featured in the video.

Also for the first time, we get to see the Dzire in lower 'L' and 'V' grades. Instead of chrome, the Dzire L gets a faux silver garnish around the grille, regular blinkers on the front wing, silver steel rims, black plastic ORVMs, and regular headlamps. The V grade steps it up with chrome bits around the grille and bumper, ORVM-mounted blinkers, body-colored ORVM caps, and multi-spoke wheel covers. The top-end 'Z+' gets the LED headlamps with DRLs, fog lamps, 15 inch diamond cut alloy rims, keyless entry, LED-powered pilot lamps for taillights and chrome window underline.

Engine options include a 1.2L K12B petrol motor producing 84 hp and 115 Nm of torque, and the 1.3L DDiS turbodiesel motor with 75 hp and 190 Nm of torque. Both engines can be had with a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT, and are capable of averaging a fuel mileage of 22 km/L (petrol) and 28.40 km/L (diesel), making the Dzire the most fuel efficient mass-market car on sale in India.
