2017 Yamaha V-Ixion production to commence in June - Report

The 2016 Yamaha V-Ixion Advance at present retails with the 149 cc mill from Yamaha R15 v2.0.

The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion is nearing its official launch in Indonesia. A report in TMC Blog reveals that series production of the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion will begin in June 2017. The bike may get the slipper clutch just like the Yamaha R15 v3.0.

Replacing the old 149 cc mill, which produces 17 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque, will be the new 155.1 cc VVA mill seen in the third generation Yamaha R15. The output of 19.31 PS and 14.7 Nm can be expected to remain the same in the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion based on Yamaha Indonesia’s past track record.

Yamaha Indonesia will be offering standard forks up front and a halogen headlamp to keep production costs under check. Brakes will include disc brakes all around while ABS will continue to be absent.

As the naked version of the Yamaha R15, the 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion is expected to offer a sporty ride targeting a young audience.

The 155.1 cc VVA mill from the Yamaha R15 v3.0 is capable of producing 19.31 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque.

The 2016 Yamaha V-Ixion Advance has a price tag of IDR 25.8 million while the Yamaha Xabre is priced at IDR 30 million. The 2017 Yamaha V-Ixion can be expected to be priced between the two motorcycles.
