The Royal Enfield Himalayan has been rendered by Oberdan Bezzi, the Italian automotive designing specialist, as a scrambler. The bike gets a more modern look than the stock off-roader.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Cobra gets a new fuel tank design, custom exhaust, new handlebar and front fender. The tyres in the render are stubby. The frame and powertrain remain the same as the standard version.
Powering the Royal Enfield Himalayan is a new 411 cc SOHC mill which is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine, in its stock form, is capable of producing 24.5 bhp of maximum power at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of torque which peaks in the range of 4,000 to 4,500 rpm. The fuel-air mixture is controlled by a carburettor.
A fuel injected version was showcased at EICMA 2016 and is expected to be introduced in India in the months ahead. The brakes include discs at both ends and the stock motorcycle gets a 21-inch front wheel and a 19-inch unit in the rear.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan has a 15-litre fuel tank and has a ground clearance of 220 mm.
