Speaking to IAB on the sidelines of the Tigor launch in Delhi, Tata Motors' Marketing head, Vivek Srivatsa, has confirmed that the Tata Tigor AMT will launch in the market soon.

Like the Tiago, the AMT for the Tata Tigor is likely to be exclusive to the 1.2 petrol variant, which produces 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque.

When asked about the Tigor AMT, Srivatsa told our reporter:

We've just launched the Tata Tiago AMT earlier this month, so there's a ramp up happening. It has to go step by step. So it's not far. We'll launch the Tigor with AMT as well, and it's only a matter of time before we do that.

Like the Tiago, the AMT for Tigor is likely to be exclusive to the 1.2 petrol variant, which produces 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque. It will be paired with a 5-speed AMT and come equipped with a 'Sports' mode, instead of 'Eco' in the Tigor manual variant. It will also have an inbuilt ‘creep’ feature, as well as manual shifting modes.

The Tata Tigor Styleback was launched in India on March 29 at prices ranging between INR 4.7 Lakhs to INR 7.09 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). It is available in four grades: XE, XT, XZ and XZ (O). The top-end comes with features like projector headlamps, 15-inch dual tone alloy wheels (petrol only), rear parking sensors and camera, Harman touchscreen infotainment system with 8-speakers, steering-mounted audio controls, multi-info display, City and Eco Driving modes, and an automatic climate control. The Tigor has a class-leading boot capacity of 419 litres.
