India-bound Renault Captur vs Nissan Kicks - In 11 Images

Both SUVs are India-bound.

In the Brazilian market, the Nissan Kicks went on sale last year, while the Renault Captur arrived just last month. Here are the two SUVs parked side-by-side in images published by Carsale.

The Renault Captur is available with two engines in Brazil: 1.6-litre SCe four-cylinder flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol) and 2.0-litre SCe four-cylinder flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol).

The Renault Captur measures 4,329 mm in length, 1,813 mm (without door mirrors) in width and 1,619 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,673 mm and a ground clearance of 212 mm. Behind the rear seats, there's a boot with 437 litres of luggage space. It's available with two engines: 1.6-litre SCe four-cylinder flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol) and 2.0-litre SCe four-cylinder flex-fuel (petrol-ethanol).

The 1.6-litre engine produces 118 CV (118 hp) and 16.2 kgfm (158.87 Nm) of torque running on petrol/120 CV (120 hp) and 16.2 kgfm (158.87 Nm) of torque running on ethanol. It's paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The 2.0-litre engine delivers 143 CV (143 hp) and 20.2 kgfm (198.09 Nm) of torque running on petrol/148 CV (148 hp) and 20.9 kgfm (204.96 Nm) of torque running on ethanol. The bigger engine is linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission.

The Renault Captur is available in two trim levels in Brazil: Zen and Intense. The Zen trim level gets features like LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, electrically folding mirrors, 2-DIN audio system, parking sensors, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and four airbags (2 front and 2 side). The Intense trim level gets 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, automatic climate control, reverse camera, LED fog lights with cornering function and 7-inch MEDIA Nav touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation as standard.

The Nissan Kicks gets the 1.6-litre CVVTCS four-cylinder flex-fuel engine as standard. This petrol-ethanol unit produces 114 CV (114 hp) and 15.5 kgfm (152 Nm) of torque, and sends power to the wheels via the XTRONIC continuously variable transmission. Kicks buyers get a choice of two trim levels: Limited and SL.

The Kicks SL is equipped with LED signature lights, 7-inch HD multifunction instrument panel, 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system, push-button start, four-speaker sound system, Zero Gravity front seats, automatic climate control, dual-front airbags, Traction Control System and Vehicle Dynamic Control. The SL grade adds features like automatic headlights, side and curtain airbags, Zero Gravity rear seats, 360-degree surround view camera, six-speaker sound system and more.

The Renault Captur is priced at R$78,900 (INR 16,76,994.36) for the Zen 1.6L MT configuration and at R$88,490 (INR 18,80,826.76) for the Intense 2.0L AT configuration in Brazil. Its Indian launch will reportedly take place in the second half of 2017.
