The model spied seems to be the top-end 'Z' grade of the Swift Dzire, which features new 15 inch multi-spoke diamond cut alloy rims, ORVM-mounted blinkers, LED taillamps connected by a chrome embellisher. It seems that the bumper of the new Swift Dzire looks different to that of the new Swift, which was recently showcased at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The rear-end design looks evolutionary, featuring vertical wrap-around taillamps, a new boot design, and a re-profiled rear bumper.

A spy shot of a test mule revealed beige fabric seat upholstery that could be contrasted by a black dashboard similar to the current model’s interior colors. The centre console design looked slightly different to that of the Euro-spec Suzuki Swift. Expect top variants to come with Maruti’s Smartplay touchscreen system with Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, 4.2 inch color MID and steering-mounted buttons. Maruti could make ABS and dual airbags as standard across the range.

Upon closer notice, the model spied seems to the diesel version, as it sports the DDiS badge on the front wing. Interestingly, it also appears to feature what looks like the SHVS badge on the boot lid, further affirming that the diesel variant is a mild-hybrid similar to the Maruti Ciaz. It will continue with the 1.3L DDiS 190 4-cyl diesel engine, which produces 75 PS and 190 Nm of peak torque. Other than a standard 5-speed manual, a 5-speed AMT will be offered as optional.

As for the next gen Swift hatchback, it's expected to arrive in India in early 2018.
