First details on performance car to be revealed today.
Overdrive reports that Tata Motors will create a performance sub-brand called as Tamo. The formal announcement as well as details on their first Tamo car will be revealed today.
However, don't expect the Tamo car to be based on any models currently available, as Overdrive reports that it is based on an all-new platform and will be built in limited numbers. It is being developed with input from the Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) in Coventry, UK and the Tata Engineering Research Centre (ERC) in Pune.
The Tamo car will make its world debut at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show next month, likely as a near-production concept. The report also states that the concept will preview the design of Tata's upcoming premium hatchback, codenamed X451.
Tata has expressed interest in launching a performance-oriented product in India, ever since they showcased the Tata Bolt Sport at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show and Auto Expo 2016. The project was reportedly shelved in favour of a "Tiago Sport", although there have been no new reports on the model lately.
