2017 Honda Activa 4G with AHO spotted, to get BSIV

The Honda Activa is the country’s largest-selling automatic scooter.

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd is gearing up to launch the BSIV compliant variant of the Honda Activa. Called as the Honda Activa 4G, the automatic scooter has been spied uncamouflaged at a dealership stockyard by a Motoroids reader.

Powering the new Honda Activa 4G will be the same tried and tested 109.2 cc air cooled mill. This time though it will meet the upcoming BSIV emission norms. The engine in its BSIII version is capable of producing 8 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 8.83 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is coupled to a V-matic gearbox and hits a claimed top speed of 82 km/h.

The Honda Activa 4G will also get Auto Headlamp On (AHO), another safety feature which will soon be mandatory for all manufacturers to follow.

Honda had earlier also updated the Honda Activa 125 to meet the new emission norms. Apart from the Honda Activa, HMSI is also expected to update the Honda Aviator and Honda Dio in March.

The Honda Activa 4G will be powered by the same 109.2 cc mill which in the Activa 3G produces 8 bhp of maximum power and 8.83 Nm of peak torque.

The Honda Activa 3G currently retails at INR 50,290 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
