Yamaha R15 v3.0 emerges as the most powerful motorcycle in the segment with 19.31 PS of power.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 has been finally officially unveiled in Indonesia at the Sentul International race track. Bringing the bikes on stage were none other than their Yamaha Racing’s MotoGP riders, Maverick Vinales and Valentino Rossi. Here's a small video of the motorcycle by YouTube user Linda Budiono.

While the R15 had not been updated for years, the competition had been growing taller every year. While the Honda CBR 150R introduced the new age LED headlamps in the segment, the Suzuki GSX-R150 took things to a new level with a maximum power output of 19.17 PS.

The Yamaha R15 v3.0 though takes things a step ahead. Not only does it become the most powerful machine in the class of performance 150 cc motorcycles, but also gets several first in class features. These include upside down forks up front and the inclusion of assist and slipper clutch. Other features include LED headlamps, R6 inspired looks and an all-digital instrumentation.

The bore and the stroke have been kept almost at par (58 mm x 58.7 mm) while the VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) tech will help produce ideal amounts of power at all rev range. The present 149 cc engine has a compression ratio of 10.4:1 while the new mill is set higher at 11.6:1. The liquid cooled, 155.1 cc, fuel injected mill on the Yamaha R15 v3 is capable of 19.31 PS of maximum power and 14.7 Nm of peak torque.
