Hero Motocorp spreads its wings to Argentina and signs football legend Diego Simeone as brand ambassador.

In a ceremony in Argentina yesterday, Hero Motocorp continued its quest for achieving global dominance, launching the 2017 Hero Glamour 125 with cosmetic as well as mechanical changes. The Hero Glamour will be called the Hero Ignitor in Latin America.

Hero MotoCorp's global product launch is the refreshed version of the Hero Glamour with AHO, i3S and TOD.

The Hero Glamour will continue in two versions - carbureted and fuel injected. The air-cooled single cylinder, OHC engine produces a maximum power output of 11.4 bhp (8.5 kW) @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 11 Nm @ 6500 rpm, thereby giving the new Glamour 27% added power and 6% more torque with further improvement in fuel efficiency 3% (carb.) and 7% (FI). The bike accelerates from 0-60 km/h in 6.03 seconds (carb.) and 5.64 seconds (Fi).

The commuter motorcycle gains LED taillamp and Auto Headlight On (AHO) which will make the bike easily visible to road users in dimly lit roads. The Hero Glamour also gets torque on demand (TOD).

To keep fuel efficiency numbers high, the 2017 Hero Glamour receives Hero’s patented i3S technology. Essentially a start-stop mechanism, i3S switches off the engine when the bike comes to a standstill for some time, say at a traffic light. To resume, the rider needs to engage the clutch. This mechanism assists the Hero Achiever and Hero Splendor iSmart.

Hero Motocorp will assemble the 2017 Hero Glamour in Argentina with parts from India initially. The carburettor version will be available in four colour options (Candy Blazing Red+Black, Black+Sports Red, Black+Techno Blue and Black +Tornado Grey) while the fuel injected trim gets three colours (misses out on Black+Tornado Grey).
