The production Tata Kite 5 (to be made in Sanand, Gujarat) would be very similar to the Tata Kite 5 shown at Auto Expo 2016.

The production Tata Kite 5 is expected to look very similar to the car that was shown at Auto Expo 2016. The front-end has already been seen undisguised before, and the new spy shot exposes some elements of the rear-end. The tail lamps' clear lens turn indicators have been swapped with orange lens turn indicators and the right-side reverse light probably has been replaced by a fog lamp. Also note the additional LED stop lamp strip on close to the roof.

The Tata Kite 5 will be offered with the Tata Tiago's 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder engine. Transmission choices will be 5-speed manual and 5-speed automated manual. All the key features of the Tiago, including Eco and City drive modes, Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with turn-by-turn navigation, dual-front airbags and ABS with EBD and CSC, should be made available in the Tata Kite 5. The car will come with a class leading boot volume of 420 liters.

The Tata Kite 5 was scheduled to be launched in India during this festive season (October-November 2016), but according to various reports, it has been postponed to 2017. It has been reported that the company's ongoing efforts on cost-cutting and the Tata Tiago's unanticipated demand are the reasons behind the rescheduling.
