The 2017 Mercedes S-Class features a new three-spoke steering wheel which seems to have been inspired by that of the 2016 Mercedes E-Class. Previously, a few more changes have been noted in spy images, such as modified displays of the instrument panel and the COMAND infotainment system, addition of touch-sensitive buttons on the steering wheel, removal of the rotary dial for the infotainment system and redesign of the touchpad for the infotainment system.

On the outside, the facelift Mercedes S-Class will feature MULTIBEAM LED headlights, new radiator grille design, restyled front and rear aprons, and tweaked LED tail lights with clusters similar to that of the E-Class.
