Unlike the previous generation Honda Jazz Hybrid, the new generation can run completely on electric power.

The Honda Jazz Hybrid being shown in Malaysia is camouflaged but is nothing we haven't previously seen, as it's already sold in Japan. The company displaying it in Malaysia probably means that it is being considered for a market launch, where the Jazz is available only with the 120 PS 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine.

The Honda Jazz Hybrid's system packs the 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine producing 81 kW (110 PS) at 6,000 rpm and 134 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm in combination with the i-DCD electric motor generating 22 kW (29.5 PS) at 1,313-2,000 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 0-1,313 rpm. There's a 7-speed automated dual-clutch transmission to handle the power delivery.

Unlike the previous generation Honda Jazz Hybrid, the new generation can even run completely on electric power. It's available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, with the fuel economy marked at 36.4 km/l (JC08 test cycle) for the former and at 29.0 km/l in the latter.

The Honda Jazz Hybrid could be assembled in Pegoh, Melaka for the Malaysian market, but the company is tight-lipped on its future plans.
