It will be underpinned by a new body-on-frame platform. Engine options at launch may include an upgraded version of the 3.6-liter Pentastar naturally aspirated V6 and the new 2.0-liter Hurricane turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline units in the U.S. market.

The Jeep Wrangler-based pickup is already undergoing road testing. Underpinned by the same new body-on-frame platform, FCA's new pickup could be offered with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 2.0-liter Hurricane four-cylinder gasoline engines as well as a turbo-diesel engine.
