The 2017 Jeep Compass will be offered with 7-speed DCT and 9-speed AT initially in China. The 6-speed MT (pictured) option should follow next year in a basic 4x2 model.

The Chinese-spec 2017 Jeep Compass measures 4,415 mm in length, 1,819 mm in width and 1,625 mm/1,648 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm. Two engines will be available - the first is the 1.4-litre FIRE MultiAir2 turbocharged four-cylinder unit that produces 121 kW (162.12 hp) and 250 Nm of torque, and the other is the 2.4-litre TigerShark MultiAir2 naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit that develops 128.5 kW (172.25 hp) and 227.5 Nm of torque.

At launch, the 1.4-litre engine model will feature a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and the 2.4-litre engine model will have a 9-speed automatic transmission. Only the latter is a four-wheel drive model. Internationally, this is the engine that will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission, but Chinese media suggests that the smaller engine will be the one available with a 6-speed manual transmission in the local version.

Xenon HID headlights, 18-inch aluminium alloy wheels, electric panoramic sunroof, 8-way electrically adjustable driver's seat, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system and Alpine/Beats Audio 9-speaker sound system with subwoofer are some of the feature highlights of the 2017 Jeep Compass.
