Bajaj hopes to take market share to 50% with 2017 Bajaj Pulsar series

Speaking to The Hindu BusinessLine, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto, spoke about the company's four pronged strategy for achieving growth this financial year. Mr. Bajaj confirms an entry-level motorcycle, a premium commuter bike, the Bajaj Kratos VS400 sportsbike, and introduction of the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar variants.

According to the report, Bajaj will introduce a new range of Pulsars this quarter, and increase their market share in this segment from 46 percent to 50 percent. Even at 46 percent, Bajaj continues to lead in this segment (sports segment).

Speaking in an earlier interview, Mr. Rajiv Bajaj said that the updated Pulsars will be introduced by December this year, and that they will feature "significant change" in both their appearance and performance. Industry experts and analysts believe that the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar motorcycles will have their engines upgraded from present BS-3 norms to BS-4 emission standards.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 could also see some updates, possibly on the cosmetic side.

Aside from that, Bajaj could also introduce ABS and CBS (Combi Braking system) in view of future safety standards set by the Indian government. And finally, new colors with striking body decals would be seen on the 2017 Bajaj Pulsar range.
