Toyota Kirloskar Motor has teased the 2016 Toyota Fortuner, ahead of its market launch on November 7, 2016. Dealers have informed Indian Autos Blog that bookings for the new Fortuner are open for a deposit of INR 2 lakhs.
Like the Innova Crysta, the 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be equipped with features such as LED projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, A-TRC Traction Control (TRC) system, Down Hill Assist Control (DAC) system, electric tailgate, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, T-Connect infotainment system with satellite navigation and reversing camera.
The 2016 Toyota Fortuner's engine lineup will be also be sourced from the Toyota Innova Crysta, which includes the 2.4-liter GD diesel engine with 149 PS and 343 Nm of torque and a 2.8-liter GD diesel engine that produces 174 PS and 360 Nm of torque. Toyota would also include the 2.7-liter four-cylinder petrol engine which was recently introduced on the Innova, though its availability will be initially restricted to Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, a dealer informed Indian Autos Blog.

Transmission options will include 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, while a 4WD system will be offered in the top-end grades. The 2016 Fortuner will have the 2016 Ford Endeavour as its primary rival.
