The Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid will be around 130 kg heavier compared to the Indian-spec model.

Save for a few market-specific styling changes, the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid won't differ much from the Indian-spec Renault Kwid. Inside, though, there will be many differences. Renault will reportedly use better quality materials for the Brazilian-spec model, and the fully-digital instrument cluster could be swapped with an analogue instrument cluster with MID.

The Renault Kwid made quite the news when it was given zero star rating in Global NCAP crash tests in May. In Brazil, however, the car will be modified for better safety. Weighing just under 800 kg, the Brazilian-spec Renault Kwid will be 130 kg heavier compared to the Indian-spec model. The monocoque structure will be strengthened, and front and side airbags as well as ABS will be fitted as standard.

In Brazil, the Renault Kwid will reportedly be offered with 0.8- and 1.0-litre three-cylinder engines, one of which could be ethanol-compatible. It will be assembled at the Ayrton Senna industrial complex in Sao Jose dos Pinhais with certain components exported from India.
