Reported to launch by November.

YouTube user 'Meghraj Singh' has videotaped the Maruti Ignis testing on the streets of New Delhi, ahead of a launch which will reportedly take place by November. The Ignis is currently on sale only in Japan, where it measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,690 mm in width, 1,595 mm in height, 2,435 mm in wheelbase and 180 mm in ground clearance. In the Japanese market, it is also available with an optional 4WD system.

For the Indian market though, the Ignis will be a front-wheel drive only model. It is likely to get the 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine and the 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine, which is also available on the Maruti Baleno. There are reports which state that both engine variants could get the AGS (automated manual transmission) aside from a standard 5-speed manual gearbox.
