The Honda CB Shine SP, launched in India in November 2015 at INR 59,990 (ex-showroom, New Delhi) with a distinctive styling and a major mechanical change from the CB Shine, has broken the 1 lakh unit sales barrier, HMSI has announced.
Mr. Y. S. Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said –
Following the legacy of CB Shine, the CB Shine SP is one of the highest contributors in terms of volume towards the growth of 125cc category (April’16-August’16). With appreciation from more than 1Lac happy customers, CB Shine SP with an extra dose of sporty style, performance, features and striking looks makes it very special in the segment.
The Shine SP features a new headlamp, an optional disc brake for the front wheel, black alloy wheels with five twin-spokes, a semi-digital instrument cluster, self start function, a two piece silencer cover and a new taillamp.
The model is powered by the old Shine’s engine with no change in output. The 124.73 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine fuelled by a carburettor, produces 10.57 bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 10.30 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The major mechanical change is the new 5-speed gearbox on the Honda Shine SP replacing the 4-speed transmission seen on the regular CB Shine.
Rest of the components like headlight, battery, suspension, brakes and tyres are all carried over from the standard Honda CB Shine. The new model is offered in five colours – red, blue, black, grey and white, and is available for sale in three variants DLX, STD & CBS.
