An Auto.cz reader has spotted a lightly wrapped 2017 Skoda Octavia Combi (facelift) testing at night in Czech Republic. It is reported to be unveiled before the end of this year and go on sale in European market from Q1 2017.

The only noticeable change in the spyshot is the updated LED taillight, which has a brighter 'C' motif.

There's not much we can tell as it has been spotted in pitch dark conditions. The only noticeable change is the updated LED taillight, which has a brighter 'C' motif. A portion of the headlight is illuminated, suggesting that the new Octavia will follow the split-headlamp design we've seen in renders. Other updates expected include a bolder butterfly grille, redesigned foglamps and a new bumper.

Inside, reports suggest that changes will be limited to a new infotainment system borrowed from the Kodiaq with touch-sensitive buttons and heated steering wheel. Expect trim updates and new seat upholstery as well.

The new Octavia's engine lineup is likely to carryover most of the petrol and diesel engines from the current model, which include a 1.0 TSI, 1.4 TSI, 2.0 TSI, 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed DSG automatic and 7-speed DSG automatic transmission options.
