India-bound (Maruti) Suzuki Ignis with AMT showcased at GIIAS

Launch of the Ignis in India is expected this year.

The India-bound Suzuki Ignis has made its Indonesian debut at the 2016 GIIAS today. It's expected to launch later this year or in early-2017 in Indonesia, reports state.

The Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,690 mm wide, 1,595 mm high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a 180 mm high ground clearance.

For the Indonesian market, the Suzuki Ignis will only be available with a 1.2L VVT petrol engine, which produces 83 hp and 115 Nm in the India-spec Maruti Baleno. Transmission options include a 5 speed MT or an AGS (AMT) gearbox, which is a first for the Ignis. Suzuki will not launch a diesel variant of the Ignis in the archipelago.

The Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,690 mm wide, 1,595 mm high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a 180 mm high ground clearance. Inside, it features a distinctive design comprising of a floating dual tone dashboard that houses a freestanding SmartPlay display, unique HVAC controls, and a new steering wheel design.

For the Indonesian market, the Suzuki Ignis will only be available with a 1.2L VVT petrol engine.

As for the Indian market, the Maruti Ignis is expected to launch during the September-October period in India. Apart from the 1.2 petrol, the Ignis will also offer a diesel variant packing the 1.3 DDiS unit.
