The Maruti Ignis is expected to look nearly unchanged from the Maruti Ignis Concept.

The Maruti Ignis, which will be sold as the Suzuki Ignis in other markets, was previewed in February by the Maruti Ignis Concept at Auto Expo 2016. The Suzuki Ignis is the production version of the Suzuki iM-4 concept that was unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. As seen in the new spyshot and previous spyshots, the production version hasn't really changed much from the concept.

The Maruti Ignis, a crossover-styled hatchback, will be a Mahindra KUV100 rival. The Ignis measures 3,700 mm in length, 1,660 mm in width and 1,595 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,435 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm.

The engine options haven't been confirmed yet for India. However, the Suzuki Ignis is expected to be a petrol-only offering in Europe. In India, the Maruti Ignis is expected to be offered with the K12B 1.2-litre petrol engine and the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. The petrol engine will be available with a 5-speed manual transmission and a continuously variable transmission, but the diesel engine will be available only with a 5-speed manual transmission.
