Launch expected in July-August 2016.
The Tata Hexa has been photographed testing near Katraj, Pune, courtesy of Overdrive reader Amey Purohit. The crossover is expected to launch in July-August 2016.
Replacing the Tata Aria, the Hexa measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. The exterior is characterized by rugged elements like black plastic cladding and side sills for a bolder look. It also has projector headlamps, signature LED DRLs, ORVM-mounted turn indicators, roof rails, diamond cut alloy wheels and dual exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, the Hexa will be the most feature-packed Tata product when launched, with features such as ESP (electronic stability program), 6-seat configuration with captain seats, 10-speaker Harman audio system with a touchscreen display, GPS navigation, reverse parking camera, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.

As for the engine, Tata is reportedly working on a sub-2.0L diesel motor based on the current 2.2L VARICOR unit, which could be a reason why Tata hasn’t launched the Hexa yet. It will be paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, and an AWD system is likely to be offered in top-end grades.
