Expected to launch in July-August.
A Motorbeam reader has spotted the Tata Hexa testing in Pune, featuring slightly lesser camouflage than before. The Hexa is speculated to launch in July-August 2016, and will serve as Tata’s newest flagship SUV.
The Hexa made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016, sporting a rugged and contemporary exterior that comprises of black plastic cladding and side sills, projector headlamps, signature LED DRLs and dual exhaust tailpipes. It measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm
It will be the most feature-packed Tata product when launched, with features such as ESP (electronic stability program), diamond-cut alloy wheels, 6-seat configuration with captain seats, Harman infotainment system, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.
For cities where the diesel ban is in effect, Tata is reportedly working on a sub-2.0L diesel engine based on the current 2.2L VARICOR unit, which could be a reason why Tata hasn’t launched the Hexa yet. It will be paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox, and an AWD system is likely to be offered in top-end grades.
