Furthermore, it is now available for sale to the Malaysian public, while previous generations of the Perdana were exclusive to government officials. Since bookings were open in February, Proton has received 900 reservations for the new Perdana, and is targeting sales of 3,000 units this year.

Compared to the 8th gen Honda Accord, the only significant change inside is the redesigned center console.

The interior is largely similar to that of the Honda Accord, with the only significant change being the redesigned center console that houses a touchscreen entertainment system and a dual zone HVAC system. It also is available with leather upholstery, steering-mounted, rear AC vents, eight-way powered driver’s seat with power lumbar adjustment and the Proton Infotainment System.

Engine lineup includes the 2.0L SOHC engine with 154 hp at 6,300 rpm and 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm, and the 2.4 litre DOHC unit with 178 hp at 6,500 rpm and 222 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. Both are paired to a five-speed automatic transmission, with steering-mounted paddle shifters for the 2.4L.
