Toyota C-HR to make Spanish debut at Madrid Auto 2016

Will launch for sale later this year.

Following its unveil at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Toyota C-HR will make its debut in Spain at the Madrid Auto 2016 exposition, which takes place from May 10 to May 16. It will launch for sale later in the region this year.

The Toyota C-HR is the latest entrant into the highly competitive compact SUV segment that comprise of SUVs like the Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, and the Fiat 500X. The C-HR banks on its flamboyant exterior styling and aggressive features to appeal to prospective customers.

Based on the TNGA platform sourced from the 2016 Toyota Prius, the C-HR will offer an engine lineup that includes a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine with 114 hp/185 Nm and a hybrid powertrain combining a 1.8-litre petrol engine with an electric motor. The hybrid setup makes 122 PS (120 hp) and is equipped with a CVT, whereas the base 1.2L is available with a 6-speed manual as standard.

The Euro-spec Toyota C-HR will be manufactured at the company’s Adapazari plant in Turkey, and mass production will be underway in late-2016 according Turkey’s Investment Support and Promotion Agency.
