Initial lot of 220 units were exported to South Africa, reportedly.
The Mahindra KUV100 will have its launch in South Africa tomorrow (June 1, 2016), the brand confirmed over social media channels.
The KUV100 will be the smallest product in Mahindra South Africa’s product range, measuring 3,675 mm long, 1,715 mm (with side cladding) wide, 1,655 mm (with roof rails) high, has a wheelbase of 2,385 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
Some of the exterior features include toothed grille with chrome inserts, swept-back headlamps with LED DRLs, foglamps, black plastic cladding and 14 inch alloy rims. Inside, the KUV100 is available with an infotainment system combining a 3.5-inch display with FM/MP3/CD, Bluetooth, Aux & USB inputs, steering-mounted controls, dual airbags and ABS, and 3+3 seating.
The KUV100 is available as a petrol or diesel model. The former is powered by a 1.2-litre mFalcon three-cylinder G80 petrol engine producing 82 bhp and 115 Nm, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel variant has a 1.2-litre mFalcon three-cylinder D75 diesel engine with 77 bhp and 190 Nm, also mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, and is claimed to offer class leading fuel consumption (ARAI-certified mileage of 25.32 km/l in India).
