To launch in Q3 2016 in Brazil.

New spyshots from Carplace reader, Alexandre Cantu, feature the pre-production Jeep 551 test mule with lesser camouflage. It is photographed from all angles, including a prototype parked beside a Ford EcoSport. The compact Jeep SUV will debut in Q3 2016 in the Brazilian market, as confirmed by Mike Manley, Head of Jeep.

The Jeep C-SUV is the long time successor to both the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot, and could be marketed with one of the two nameplates. New spyshots offer a clear insight into what we can expect from the exterior design, which adopts a contemporary and curvaceous styling along the lines of the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee, rather than the iconic boxy lines that we've seen in the Renegade and Wrangler.

The Jeep Compass/Patriot successor will be based on FCA's Small Wide platform sourced from the Renegade, and its engine lineup may include 2.0-liter Tigershark petrol and 2.0-liter MultiJet II diesel engines. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission, and an AWD system could be equipped in higher grades.
