Dual front airbags standard on all variants of the BR-V.
Honda Cars India will launch the Honda BR-V in New Delhi today, at what the manufacturer claims will be competitive pricing. The BR-V, based on the same platform as that of the Honda Brio, will represent the Japanese car maker in the burgeoning compact SUV/crossover space.
For the Indian market, the Honda BR-V will be offered with 1.5-liter four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The former will develop 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque and will come paired to an all-new 6-speed manual gearbox or a CVT with paddle-shifters. The former claims an ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of 15.4 km/l while the latter is good for 16 km/l.
The Honda BR-V's diesel engine is rated for 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque, and will be available solely with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI-rated fuel efficiency of this engine is 21.9 km/l. Both, petrol and diesel, will be front-wheel drive offerings only.
The Honda BR-V will be offered in four grades - E, S, V and VX. The V grade in petrol trim will additionally get the option of the CVT. All variants will get dual front airbags as standard, whereas all diesel-powered variants additionally get ABS and EBD as part of the standard kit too.

Price wise, the Honda BR-V will go up against the likes of the Mahindra Scorpio, Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and the Maruti S-Cross.
