Borrows cues from new Toyota Corolla and Camry.

The third generation Toyota Vios debuted at the 2013 Bangkok Motor Show, and at 2016 Auto China (2016 Beijing Motor Show) last month, Toyota introduced facelift of the same. Here's how the facelifted Vios differs from the original third generation Vios.

The front-end sees the most changes, with cues borrowed from the 2016 Toyota Corolla (facelift) and the 2016 Toyota Camry (facelift).

The 2016 Toyota Vios features a thoroughly revised front-end and an updated rear-end, while its side profile remains more or less unchanged. The Toyota Corolla facelift and Toyota Camry facelift inspired front-end features new headlamps, sleeker upper grille, wider lower grille, vertical fog lamps and restyled bumper. At the rear, the new Vios features restyled tail lamps, sleeker chrome applique on the boot and a slightly reshaped bumper.

The facelifted Toyota Vios could be offered with the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that produces 108 hp and 140 hp.

Toyota hasn't revealed technical details about the 2016 Toyota Vios. The pre-facelift Toyota Vios is available with 1.3- and 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder engine options and 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic transmission choices. The facelifted Vios could be available with the 2NR-FE 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i engine that produces 108 hp and 140 Nm of torque, connected to a continuously variable transmission.
