SIAM has released the sales figures registered by various products in March 2016, and it appears that the Renault Kwid has further surpassed its sales record in February.
Renault has managed to sell 9,743 units of the Kwid in March, and the total figure now stands at 41,205 units sold since launch. It has contributed to a 159.8 percent increase of Renault’s overall sales as compared to the figures in March 2015.
The figure is expected to increase in the coming months as Renault has introduced a nightshift to increase production to 1,600 units per day, so as to clear the 110,000 pre-orders that they have received. Also in the pipeline are the Renault Kwid 1.0 and Renault Kwid Automatic variants.
However, Maruti Suzuki’s top selling cars such as the Maruti Alto, WagonR, and Swift, have decreased for the third consecutive month. Compared to the figures in March 2015, the Alto registered decline of 11 percent, while the WagonR and Swift saw their sales decrease by 4 percent and 13 percent, respectively.
