Unlike the Vitara Brezza, the Maruti Ignis will be sold through Maruti's NEXA dealerships.

The Maruti Ignis made its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 as a near-production concept. It will look largely identical to the Ignis currently sold in Japan, save for a chrome-accentuated grille and roof rails. The Ignis measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and a 180 mm high ground clearance.

The engine lineup of the Ignis has not been confirmed yet, although it is likely to be powered by the 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT or a 1.3-liter DDiS engine equipped with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both models, while a CVT will be exclusive for the petrol variant.
