Production version expected to debut in Korea later this year.

Hyundai has unveiled the Hyundai Verna Concept at the Auto China 2016 in Beijing today. This gives us a first look at the design of the next generation 2017 Hyundai Verna (or Accent/Solaris in other markets), which will arrive in India next year.

As the concept's styling suggest, the next generation Hyundai Verna will feature an evolutionary exterior influenced by the company's current Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Like Hyundai's latest products, the next gen Verna will feature a large hexagonal grille, sleek projector headlamps and sportier bumpers.

The side profile appears to be more or less similar to the current Hyundai Verna, save for a redesigned C-pillar and rear door. The roofline seems to flow into the rear-end of the car, giving it a liftback-esque appearance. The registration plate has been repositioned to the lower bumper, while the upper portion features new LED taillamps and a moulded spoiler.

Being a concept, Hyundai hasn't revealed the engine lineup or performance figures. Expect technical details to arrive when the production-spec model makes its debut. A market launch in Korea could take place later this year, while markets like India would get the sedan in early-2017.
