Hero Xtreme 200S to launch in India in 2017 – Report

According to a report on Autocar Professional, the Hero Xtreme 200S will be launched in 2017. The model premiered at the Auto Expo 2016 and presents a new design approach the company is considering for their upcoming products.
The Xtreme 200S features a 200 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that is tuned to develop 18.6 PS at 8,500 rpm and 17.2 Nm at 6,000 rpm and is mated to a five-speed transmission. The other hardware include a diamond-frame chassis, conventional fork, monoshock rear suspension, disc brake at both ends and alloy wheels.
The salient features include ABS, analog-digital instrument console, halogen headlamp, LED pilot lights, LED taillamp, fuel tank with shrouds equipped with air intakes, engine cowl, dual tone seat and long exhaust can. The motorcycle could be offered in two variants – one with ABS and the other without ABS. The former could be priced at around INR 90,000 while the latter is likely to cross the INR 1 lakh mark (ex-showroom).
