Toyota Kirloskar Motor unveiled the Japanese manufacturer's hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicle, the Toyota Mirai, at the ongoing Auto Expo 2016. The Mirai is not intended to be launched in India any time soon.

Following its unveil in Japan in late 2014, the Toyota Mirai had also made an appearance at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The vehicle is powered by a stack of hydrogen fuel cells that produces maximum power of 153 hp, with power output density of 3.1 kW/l.

The Mirai's design is entirely futuristic, with the unconventional front bumper said to be designed to replicate a droplet of water. The Mirai's fog lamps are a set of vertically stacked LED lights placed alongside large black airdams.

A strong shoulder line running unhindered from the front bumper to the C-pillar, along with 7-spoke alloy wheels complete the side profile of the Mirai. At the rear is a set of taillights that have been designed to resemble a trapezoid, along with a beam of brake lights running along the top of the boot lid with the Japanese maker's logo in the centre.

The Mirai measures 4,890 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width and 1,535 mm in height and has a 2,780 mm wheelbase. The kerb weight, largely due to the heavy stack of fuel cells, stands at 1,850 kg.
