Features a host of cosmetic add-ons.
What appears to be a Mahindra Scorpio special edition in the making, has been caught testing by RushLane. The spyshots reveal black alloy wheels, painted brake calipers and special body graphics on the SUV, which suggest that Mahindra is putting together a commemorative edition.
The additional features on the special edition are silver coloured door handles, silver cladding on the lower body, chrome finished roof rails, and an extended floating roof. The interior of the 2016 Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be refurbished with new upholstery and floor mats with a special edition marking.
It is likely that the Mahindra Scorpio special edition will be offered with the 2.2-litre mHawk four-cylinder diesel engine in the same state of tune as the standard variants. The motor is capable of producing 120 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 280 Nm of torque between 1,800-2,800 rpm. It is unclear if the special edition will be available only with the five-speed manual gearbox or if it will extend to include the six-speed automatic transmission as well.
