The Proton Perdana will, reportedly, arrive in showrooms from Q1 2016.

The exterior of the Proton Perdana was teased in the presentation, which appears to look completely different from the Perdana seen on the roads today (basically a rebadged Honda Accord). It features a new pair of headlights with projector lens, LED daytime running light strips, redesigned grille with bold chrome slat and a contoured hood. The rear-end gets new taillamps identical to the one teased at a company event last October.

Inside, Proton has revealed that it will be equipped with features such as an infotainment touchscreen system with reverse camera and navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, power seat adjustability for the driver, and a manual tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel. The Perdana will come equipped with airbags (no specific mention of how many), electronic stability control as well as ABS with EBD.

It continues to be based on the Honda Accord, and packs a 2.4 litre Honda-sourced engine that is capable of 181 hp and 222 Nm of torque. It is paired to a CVT with steering mounted paddle shifters. The Perdana will get a new 2.0L NE01 engine by end of 2017, according to reports.

As for prices, Proton chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed has hinted that the new Perdana will be priced between RM 100,000 - RM 150,000 (INR 16.4 to INR 24.62 lakhs). The current Proton Perdana is reserved only for sale to government officials. Proton has confirmed that this will change, and that the new Perdana will be available for purchase to the public as well.
