The exterior of the Creta takes inspiration from the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language, that gives the SUV a premium look. Hyundai claims that the Creta is among the strongest SUVs in the segment thanks to its ”Hive structure” body shell that is made from Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) and Ultra High Strength Steel (UHSS). Some of the noteworthy exterior elements are projector headlamps, triple-slat chrome radiator grille, piano-black finish A-pillar, diamond-cut 17-inch alloys, LED position lamps, roof rails and skid plates.

The occupant is welcomed by a dashboard design influenced by flowing water, and a three-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls for audio and Bluetooth. Top-end trims have seats with premium leather upholstery and a 7.0-inch AVN touchscreen display. Notable features are automatic climate control, electric side mirrors, rear AC vents, push button start and audio system with six speakers.

The Hyundai Creta comes with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant is driven by a 1.6-liter Dual VTVT engine that produces 123 PS and 151 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox giving a fuel efficiency of 15.29 km/l.

The diesel variant is available with a choice of two engines; these are a 1.4-liter CRDi mill developing 90 PS / 220 Nm and a 1.6-liter CRDi unit with VGT generating 128 PS / 259 Nm of peak torque. The smaller engine can be paired only to a 6-speed manual whereas the bigger engine can also be availed with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

ARAI-certified mileage for the 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter diesel units stand at 21.38 km/l and 19.67 km/l respectively. When equipped with the automatic gearbox, the larger diesel motor gives a reduced figure of 17.01 km/l.
