The Facebook community says that the test mule featured LED headlamps and had the 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 174 hp and 162 lb.-ft. of torque. There’s also a camera integrated in the door mirrors, for Honda LaneWatch, and a black boot spoiler.
From the spy shots, it can be said that the exterior of the ASEAN-spec tenth-gen Honda Civic won’t be much different compared to the North American-spec version. That said, the specifications can also expected to remain more or less the same. The 2016 Honda Civic is 182.3 inch (4,630 mm) long, 70.8 inch wide (1,798 mm) and 55.7 inch (1,415 mm) tall, and has a wheelbase of 106.3 inch (2,700 mm).
Along with the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, Honda may offer a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 158 hp and 138 lb.-ft. (187 Nm) of torque to keep the entry price lower. The 1.5-litre engine likely be mated to a continuously variable transmission, while the 2.0-litre engine unit may be available additionally with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Noteworthy features of the 2016 Honda Civic, likely to be offered in ASEAN specification too, include all-LED headlights and LED turn indicators, power front row seats, dual-zone automatic climate control system, Adaptive Cruise Control and 7-inch Display Audio infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration compatibility.
Honda manufactures the ASEAN-spec Civic currently at the Rojana Industrial Park in Ayutthaya province of Thailand.
