TVS Motor Company is not planning to develop semi- or fully-faired versions of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, it has confirmed to IndianAutosBlog.com.

TVS Motor Company told IndianAutosBlog.com that it has no plan to develop semi- or fully-faired versions of the TVS Apache 200. Though officially still not acknowledged, the first fully-faired TVS motorcycle will be their interpretation of the BMW G310R (TVS U69) which will be their next all-new launch, after the Apache.

The TVS Apache 200 is the flagship TVS two-wheeler that was launched last week alongside the new TVS Victor at an event in Chennai. The RTR 200 has an all-new chassis and powertrain, and uses a few components from the other Apache variants. It has two main versions, a carbureted model with TVS Remora tyres and no ABS, and an FI-equipped trim that has ABS and Pirelli tyres.

The former competes chiefly with the Bajaj Pulsar 220F and the Hero Karizma, while the latter is perceived to rival the Pulsar AS200, Karizma ZMR, Yamaha R15 and the KTM Duke 200 in terms of price or performance. TVS is bound to introduce six to eight variants of the Apache by April.
