New Ford Endeavour snapped in Chennai ahead of launch - Spied

The new Ford Endeavour has been spied again in Chennai, by a Motoroids reader, Chandrasekar Lakshminarayan. The spyshots reveal the car's Daytime Running Lights and LED taillights.

Expected to be launched in mid-January, the bookings for the new Ford Endeavour is anticipated to start this month, sources told IAB. The SUV will be assembled in Chennai from Thailand-made CKD kits.

The new Endeavour would be offered with two diesel engine choices.

The SUV would be offered in India with two diesel engines which would include the 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit that produces 148 bhp of maximum power and the 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCi motor that is capable of churning 197 bhp of peak power. The latter will be mated only to a six-speed automatic transmission, while the smaller engine would be offered with the choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.

The salient features of the Toyota Fortuner-rival include dual front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, Hill Hold assist, Traction Control System, the Ford SYNC2 infotainment system with voice command facility, an electric tailgate, and electric foldable third row seat-backs.
