Will be manufactured at Mazda’s Mexican plant.

Autos Segredos reader, Mr. Cristiano Dutra, has snapped the next generation 2016 Toyota Yaris for the South American market. At the moment, details on its launch in Brazil are scarce.

The Toyota Yaris test mule features 16 alloy rims, taillamps and boot lid from the Mazda 2.

Thanks to a new partnership with Mazda, the next Toyota Yaris will be a rebadged Mazda 2 sedan, which is apparent in the test mule's taillight, boot lid, and bumper design.

The Mazda 2 sold in other markets gets 16-inch aluminum wheels, turn-signal indicators in the side mirrors, and a forward-collision warning system, while the interior comes with cruise control, air conditioning, keyless entry, push-button ignition, and a backup camera.

Under the hood is Mazda 2's 1.5-liter Skyactiv four-cylinder, although it is likely to not wear the Skyactiv branding. With direct injection and a 12.0:1 compression ratio, it produces 106 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,000 revs; it will be offered with a choice of six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
