It's apparent that Porsche will overhaul the design for a sleeker, contemporary look that shaves some of bulk in the current model. It will get a new LED taillight cluster design similar to the Porsche Macan, large active rear spoiler, quad exhaust tips, and a sportier bumper.

The new Panamera will ride on an all-new MSB platform, and is reported to make the car 90 kg lighter than the current model, thanks to the extensive use of aluminum and high-strength steels. The engine lineup could include a new range of turbocharged V6 and V8 engines paired to Porsche’s dual-clutch PDK transmission as standard. It will be available in RWD and AWD guises.

Reports speculate that the next generation Panamera will spawn two bodystyles - a long wheelbase version and a sporty five-door Sport Turismo version. Another 5-door sedan in the making is the production-spec Porsche Mission E, which will slot under the Panamera and feature a fully electric powertrain.
