The new Endeavour is expected to launch in mid-January 2016, while bookings are reported to commence towards the end of this month. It will be assembled at Ford's plant in Chennai with CKD kits, and could be priced between INR 20-28 Lakhs (ex showroom).

The variant spotted above packs a 197 bhp 3.2-litre five-cylinder TDCI diesel engine, which is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a 4WD system with Terrain Management. Customers seeking a less-powerful variant can go for the 148 bhp 2.2-litre four-cylinder TDCI that can be spec'd with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic (Thai-spec).

The exterior and interior designs are a major overhaul over the outgoing model, and injects a sense of luxury to the utilitarian, rugged offering. The new Endeavour will rival SUVs like the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Sport (next generation models coming in 2017), the Ssangyong Rexton and Hyundai Santa Fe.
