India-bound Honda BR-V showcased at 2015 Makassar Auto Show - Report

The Honda BR-V is currently being showcased at the 2015 Makassar Auto Show, which is open to the public from November 25 - 29. The BR-V is priced between Rp 230 - Rp 265 million (INR 11.11 lakhs to INR 12.80 lakhs), and interested customers can place their order on the spot.

According to a report from Autocar Indonesia, the BR-V will launch in Indonesia on December 2, while deliveries will begin from January 2016. Honda has claimed that they have received over 3,500 bookings for the crossover, and are expecting 4,000 by the end of 2015.

It will only offer a single petrol engine, a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine that is capable of 120 PS and 145 Nm of torque, and paired to a 6-speed manual transmission or CVT. A 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine will also be available for diesel-friendly markets such as India, where the BR-V will go on sale next financial year.

For the Indian market, the Honda BR-V is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster and Mahindra Scorpio on price.
